Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is one of the allied health professions that promotes, maintains and restores health through physical means. Physiotherapists are trained professionals that provide services that develop, maintain and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability.

They can help people at any stages of life when movement and/or functions are compromised by ageing, injury, disease processes, disorders, conditions or environmental factors.

Physiotherapy helps maximize quality of life with respect to physical, psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. Physiotherapists work in the health spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention and rehabilitation.
