Obstetrics & Gynaecology
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department is home to over 12,000 newborn births each year, as well as providing care for a wide range of obstetrics and gynaecology emergencies.
The doctors and midwives at Port Moresby General Hospital have achieved the lowest perinatal mortality rate among equivalent hospitals in the developing world.
The Department has also participated in several important research studies that have contributed greatly to the advancement of medical knowledge both within Papua New Guinea and further afield.

Reduced Fees

Free Services
Palliative care is free for both public and private patients.

The above fee structure is based on the supplied Division of Obstetrics & Gynaecology proposed fee structure for specialised O&G services in 2021.
Those unable to afford the above fees will pay 10% of public fees and those who are destitute will be exempted.
